Harvest time: spring 2024
Origin: Huazhuliangzi Mountain, Southwest Yunnan, China
Garden height: 2430 m
Picking Method: Manual
There are mountains that do not conquer with their height, but with their presence. Huazhuliangzi is one of them — the highest peak of Xishuangbanna, 2430 meters above sea level, a place where alpine freshness meets subtropical moisture. Surrounded by clouds and fog almost all year round, this mountain has a character that can be felt in every tea leaf that grows on it.
This shu-pu-erh carries exactly that character. It is soft and creamy, almost dessert in its texture, like almond cake or light mousse. Bitterness and astringency are barely present — only a mild structure that gives the body but does not take the lead. Instead, a feeling of fullness and warmth remains in the mouth, while hints of fresh mountain herbs slowly appear from this delicate base.
It is a tea that goes naturally with fine desserts: light cakes, almonds and even tropical fruit mousse. Its creamy softness and subtle sweetness make it an ideal companion to desserts that do not seek dominance, but harmony.
Until the end of 2025, this tea was aged in Banna, in conditions that allow it to develop slowly and steadily. It is already completely ready to be enjoyed, but at the same time it carries the potential for further maturation. If you store it in the right conditions —away from heat, light, and humidity—it will continue to change from year to year, adding new layers and hues, just as our lives change.
For lovers of soft, creamy and friendly shu pu-erh teas, Huazhuliangzi is a real discovery.
For those who love teas that grow over time — even better.
For everyone else — a chance to get to know the highest mountain of Xishuangbanne through a cup of warm, gentle pu-erh.
