A special black tea from Taiwan, Yuchi Red Jade is also known as “Ruby”. Hong Yu translates to Red Jade or Ruby, hence the name for this tea. Red Jade originated in the city of Yuchi on the shores of the picturesque Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan.
Cultivar Hong Yu TTES no. 18 was developed on Taiwan recently in an attempt to stimulate black tea production in that country, and this cultivar was developed from Assam from Burma and the local wild tea tree from Taiwan. Teas obtained with the new Red Jade cultivar have a unique mint aroma.
Yuchi Red Jade Black Tea has large curled leaves that create a dark amber-red liquid. This tea is known for its strong flavor. Very pleasant fruity notes also stand out. This tea is very complex, with unique flavors that make it truly amazing! The taste is in a harmonious balance of sweet fruity notes and cool notes of cinnamon.
The garden has been tested for compliance with strict EU standards on pesticides and has been rated with excellent grades, which is another good reason to support the work of this farmer.
